How It All Started
It Started With What They Saw
They saw families struggling without access to basic needs.
They saw children growing up without opportunity.
They saw a community being left behind.
And they chose to do something about it.
What began as small acts of support became a mission to create real, lasting change.
“The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed of grain that grows seven ears; in every ear is a hundred grains.” (2:261)
From Survival to Stability
We’re Not Just Helping Somalia. We’re Transforming It.
The Awale Foundation is actively reshaping what’s possible for communities across Somalia.
What began as a mission to give back has grown into real, measurable change building the kind of infrastructure and support systems that don’t just help people survive but allow them to thrive.
We have built schools to educate the next generation, improved road access to connect isolated communities, and constructed homes that give families safety and stability. Most critically, we opened a hospital that delivers life-saving care to mothers, babies, and families who previously had no access to medical support.
But our work doesn’t stop at large projects. Every single month, we provide consistent food support to families in need ensuring that the most vulnerable are not forgotten. This is not temporary relief. This is long-term impact. And we’re only getting started.
